Vote on it: Printable Quote Art

by Angie on February 1, 2012

First, some business: Did you guys see that my Barn Wood Head Board with Built-in Light was featured in The Nesting Place’s “bird watching” post on Saturday? This is a huge compliment and I am currently, as I type this, driving in my car to North Carolina to thank The Nester personally with a big fat hug!! (No, I’m really not, but that was my first inclination :-)

Thanks for the *fist bump*, Nester, what a fun surprise! (Thanks to Cassie at Primitive and Proper for giving me the heads up as soon as the post went up. I about had a heart attack in public and didn’t know who to scream “hooray!” with because—as it turns out, most people in my real life don’t know who Nester is. I try, I do, to educate ya’ll, but… still.) Anyway, lots of fun!

Second item of business: thanks for putting up with my randomness. Monday’s post about potty? I now simultaneously apologize to, commiserate with, and appreciate all of my readers. Sorry to put you through that story! :-) Life is fun. Life is full. Life is not all crafts, hammers, and weight loss efforts (thank goodness!)

Third: My sister and her family have gone back to Alaska now. (Insert sad face). Their visit was 10 days long, but it went by in a flash! As it turns out, when you have 6 kids between you, there isn’t nearly enough time to actually enjoy each other! Next trip? She and I both fly to a fun city and spend the weekend together without kids or husbands! The end of her trip means back to real life for me. Real life = still don’t have a dishwasher. Stairs need to be painted. Barstools. Blogging. Floors to mop, groceries to buy. Blech!

Nah- instead of doing all those things, let’s make something pretty instead! I’ve got a major itch to create some great word art using Picnik before it kicks the bucket. I want to create, print, and frame some AMAZING quotes that will inspire me and my family to reach for higher things, to choose the good way, to be kind, hard-working, and positive, etc.

I’ve been collecting meaningful quotes for a while now and socking them away in my quote clipboard. Some of them are on my Pinterest board entitled “QUOTES TO QUOTE.”

Since I know most of you are still sitting there thinking, “what is Pinterest again??” please allow me to show you some samples of the quotes I have pinned on my QUOTES TO QUOTE board:
you get what you get and you don't throw a fit

(this from Becky Higgins)
I Dream Of A Better World Where Chickens Can Cross The Road Without Having Their Motives Questioned_
(I can’t find the original source for this one)
happy girls - yellow-340x340
(You can  buy this print here)
every day may not be good but there is good in every day
(best source I could find is here…)
See? These are all fun and good and pretty to look at and I want to make my own, gosh darn it!
I want to make one that you all will love too, so let’s take it to the polls. YOU DECIDE WHICH QUOTE I WILL BEAUTIFY! Here are 5 quotes that I am considering using:
1.“Forget yourself and get to work.”  Gordon B. Hinckley
2. “As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you.”
 Dieter F. Uchtdorf
3. “You can be smart and happy or stupid and miserable. . . it’s your choice” Gordon B. Hinckley
4. “Never give up on anyone. And that includes not giving up on yourself.”
 Dieter F. Uchtdorf
5. “When I say do your best, I mean your very best. You are capable of so much more.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
These are all highly inspirational and motivating. I’d also like to do some humorous ones later, but let’s vote now on these five, shall we?
Below is a poll that I want you to take. It’s so simple. Just click the one you like:

If you are reading this in an email or on a reader, you can click this link here to quickly take the poll too. Don’t be shy people, I am listening and by golly, I want to hear something!
Love ya, babes!

I like 2. “Get on your knees and pray, then get on your feet and work.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley, but it's not in the clicky poll! So that's my vote.
