Weekend Ticker Tape 12/10/11

by Angie on December 10, 2011

Shall we browse the web together? We shall… in our second installment of Angie’s Weekend Ticker Tape- the ideas, blog posts, new stories, and mind-blowing world-wide-web weirdnesses that happen to be floating around my mind these days. Go:

1. Camille at A Whole Lot of Craft followed my “How to Hide Flat Screen Cords in Trimwork Tutorial” and created the same effect in her new home! It looks awesome and I am so proud of her and her mom for pulling it off! I love it when my mom comes into town to help with projects too. It’s like having two of me. “I can run from me, but I can’t hide from me!” (…name that movie*) Check out Camille’s TV Trimwork doing double duty as cord covers:

Great job, Camille! Visit A Whole Lot of Craft to see what else she is up to.

2. This hand-made tree-topper (and accompanying décor made of menus at Potbelly’s) is blowing my mind! Can you imagine the application of this idea with a really amazing 12 x 12 scrapbook paper? Or a sheer-esque paper stuffed with a short string of white lights inside? Hello, Rebecca @ Older and Wisor, you just added something to my to-do list for next year’s tree.

3. My son won the Dance-Off in his 3rd grade class today! This win, of course, can be attributed to the dancing lessons he is taking daily from his father:

He managed to not fall on the DW, but kicked his own knee. And it hurts.

4. OR, It might be possible that the repeated viewings of old Will Smith music videos could be positively influencing my children and their jiggy-ness. (na na na na na na na….) Enjoy:

5. We are definitely doing TWELVE DAYS OF SERVICE, an idea from Jason F. Wright (via Deseret News) this year. This is an “advent-like” countdown that we can actually do, seeing as how we are travelling for the Holidays. Service is transportable, baby. And awesome. We aren’t going to follow the exact service schedule outlined in the article, but it is still going to be our focus for 12 straight days. (I like the idea of including Christmas Day in the 12 days of Christmas, so we are starting on the 14th instead of the 13th.) Join us?

What have you found on the WWW this week that is fun, dumb, sweet, or world-rocking? Tell me, baby… (link to your own awesomeness?)

P.S. *"I can run from me, but I can’t hide from me!”  is from…. Cheaper By The Dozen. The Ashton Kutcher character. One of my favorite family movies.

I just love you guys….

There is NO WAY that my dumb ol' menu star is blowing your mind. COME ON.

HOWEVER.

Is your hubby an astronaut? 'Cuz his dance moves are outta this world.

Also.

We have been working on a family music video that was never finished (RIP Flipcam), but this has inspired me to press forward and put my shoulder to the wheel and all that stuff to finally get it done. THANK YOU.

if you make a family music video, we will make one too! i can imagine the possibilities, can't you?? we could post on the same day and "rock" the world.

no, he is not an astronaut, he is a doctor.

and…. i can't think of a doctor joke about dancing.

and he's not even a real doctor.
